A perfect Saturday in Caversham

Caversham is the perfect place to spend a relaxing Saturday, with all our shops, cafes and lovely walks. As someone who grew up in Caversham, here is how I would spend my dream Saturday in Caversham.


Caversham on Thames sign to welcome people

First things first, coffee and fresh air!


I would grab a coffee from The Collective at the bottom of Priest Hill and head over to Caversham Court Gardens for a calm and thoughtful start to the day, sipping hot coffee and watching the swans glide over the Thames.


Next I would head out for brunch somewhere new. I haven't tried La Bella Cafe yet, but I've heard great things, so I would try there. If you haven't tried Geo Cafe, Vegivores or Nathan's Nibbles, they're all favourites of mine.


Time for some shopping! Caversham has many great independent shops and charity shops too. I'd hunt the charity shops for hidden gems, take a slow stroll around Nood for a new plant that I WILL remember to water, hit up The Edit for some new clothes, take a look in Pop Classics for some 'buying music in real life' nostalgia, and finish up in Four Bears Bookshop for some new reading material. From there I'd head to BKRY for a sweet treat and an iced coffee, before climbing the hill to Balmore Park to eat my treats and start my new book!


Once I'd had quite enough of my own company, I would meet friends for drinks at Spill, The Crown On The Bridge, The Fox or The Last Crumb.


Dinner at Clays would be the jewel in the crown of my perfect Caversham Saturday. I've been a fan of theirs forever, and I was delighted when they made the move over here.
